Established in 1988, the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA) has amassed an impressive collection of over 140 works from leading, established, and emerging Australian artists valued at $709,650.

The JADA collection provides an extensive overview of the Australian drawing practice, cataloguing the development and changing parameters of contemporary drawing for close to four decades. It explores trends and relevance, the strength of the mark ranging from highly articulate executions to spontaneous expressive works, and variety of mediums and platforms from traditional pencil and paper to digital presentations.

The JADA has established Grafton Regional Gallery as a centre of drawing excellence in NSW, a legacy that will continue to grow into the future.
