Artist Respite Program

A program for artists based in the Northern Rivers, working in any artform, who have been affected by a natural disaster.

Artists who have been affected by the ongoing impact of natural disaster events in the Northern Rivers are invited to apply for respite at the Grafton Regional Gallery. An artist stipend, accommodation and studio space is available for up to one week between January and June 2025. This is an opportunity to be immersed in the Clarence Valley landscape and community, to connect with the Grafton Regional Gallery and Arts Northern Rivers teams, and to be supported in creative practice.
Arts Northern Rivers and Grafton Regional Gallery have developed this program to support artists residing in the Northern Rivers areas affected by natural disasters. Artists are welcome to provide a reflection on their time during the Respite Program in the form of written notes, photographs, and so on though there is no formal outcome required  from involvement in the program.
