The Regional Art section of the collection consists of works which relate to Grafton and surrounding areas, by artists with district connections and by artists of the North Coast region.
The Regional Collection was established in 1988 and consists of paintings, ceramics, prints, photographs, sculptures, drawings and mixed media works that are of the region or by artists living in the region. The region encompasses all of the Clarence Valley and includes the Northern Rivers, the northern area of the Mid North Coast and the eastern edge of the New England Tablelands.
Artists represented include Lyndall Adams, Darren Bryant, Patrycia Buckland, Keith Cameron, Geoff Crispin, Bob Connery, Karla Dickens, Penny Evans, Dave Funnell, Pam Fysh, Janice Hunter, Gary Jolley, Anne Judell, Jenny Kitchener, Digby Moran, Robert Moore, Francis Belle Parker, Mike Riley, Oral Roberts, Cass Samms, Jeramie Scahill, Sandra Taylor, John Van der Kolk, David van Nunen, Christine Willcocks, Anne Zahalka and John Witzig.
Works are acquired into this collection from exhibitions, gifts, commissions and donations. This growing collection of regional art is diverse and widely represented and sustains and records the region's cultural identity and heritage, including our Aboriginal culture and heritage.
