It’s an exciting time for the Grafton Regional Gallery, with a refurbishment and major extension made possible through the Create NSW Regional Cultural Fund being offically opened in March 2021. With 40% more space and a dynamic new arts and cultural program, the Gallery is a bold cultural icon for the Clarence Valley.

Now is a great time to get involved with the Gallery through our Supporters Program or by making your mark on the Grand Staircase. Your generous support will help to create an ongoing  vibrant, and creative destination for the entire community to enjoy.

The Gallery is funded and administered by Clarence Valley Council with support from the NSW State Government through Create NSW, and relies on the generous support of donors to maintain and grow the permanent collection. You can give to the collection in a number of ways including donations and gifts, your donation will assist us to increase our capacity to acquire new works.

The Grafton Regional Gallery acknowledges the generous support provided by our funding partners, sponsors and donors. This support allows the Grafton Regional Gallery to provide inspiring and outstanding arts and cultural experiences for our community and visitors to the Clarence Valley.

The Gift of Art

Grafton Regional Gallery holds a significant collection of over 3,000 artworks to inspire our community. The Collection has been developed through the generosity and philanthropy of individuals who have supported the cultural life of Clarence Valley through the Gift of Art program.

There are several ways that you can personally support the development of the Gallery’s collection, these include:
1. Cash donations
2. Gifting art through the Cultural Gifts Program
3. Supporting The Gallery Foundation

Cash donations over $2 are tax decuctible, the Grafton Regional Gallery has deductible gift recipient status (DGR) with the ATO (ABN 85 864 095 684).

Gifting through the Cultural Gifts Program

The Gallery is endorsed to accept gifts through the Australian Government’s Cultural Gifts Program. This program provides tax incentives for giving by encouraging Australians to donate artworks to public art galleries. In return donors receive a fully tax deductible benefit based on the market value of the work (with some exceptions), which is exempt from capital gains tax, and the deduction can be spread over five income years, however the artwork must be of relevance to the institution, fit within the gallery’s collection policy, and must be valued by two approved valuers at proven market prices.
For further information about the Cultural Gifts Program please visit https://www.arts.gov.au/funding-and-support/cultural-gifts-program

If you have a question or would like to discuss a potential donation, contact the gallery by emailing supportgrg@clarence.nsw.gov.au

NB: All acquisition proposals must fit within the gallery’s collection policy and are subject to assessment and approval by the Gallery Advisory Committee.
