2024 Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA)

Celebrating the enduring importance of national contemporary drawing practice.

Attracting entries from across Australia, the biennial JADA is Australia’s richest regional drawing prize. The JADA celebrates innovation, excellence, technique and the enduring importance of fostering Australian drawing practice. The artworks that are acquired through the JADA into the Gallery's Permanent Collection have documented the development and evolution of contemporary drawing practice in Australia.

The 2024 JADA will be judged prior to the Official Opening by Michelle Newton, Deputy Director at Artspace, Sydney, with the prize winners being announced on Saturday 28 September, 2024 at the opening Gala event. The $35,000 acquisitive prize will be presented by major sponsors, the Friends of Grafton Gallery (FoGG), along with a non acquisitive prize of $5,000 for an Early Career Artist.
